Quote templates
Save the jobs you quote again and again, and start new quotes from them.
If you quote the same kind of job again and again, save it once as a template. Starting a new quote from it gives you the same line items, sub-items and adjustments to adjust.
Save a quote as a template
- Open a quote that is a good example of the job.
- Under Actions, choose Save as template.
- The new template opens, named after the quote. Give it a clearer name, like "Water heater swap", under Template name and choose Save.
You can also build one from scratch: open the Templates tab on Quotes and choose New Template.
Start a quote from a template
- Open Quotes → Templates.
- Choose Use beside the template.
- A new quote opens with the template's contents. Add the customer, adjust, and send.
Templates never appear in your quotes list and are never sent. Saving a template does not count toward a monthly quote limit on your plan; each quote you start from one does. Edit a template the same way you edit a quote.
A template keeps the prices it was saved with. If you have since changed prices in your pricebook, update the template, or check each line on the new quote.
Duplicate a quote
To copy one particular quote instead, open it and choose Duplicate quote. The copy gets its own number and no dates, ready to fill in.
