Price book
Last updated
A price book is a maintained list of the services and parts a company sells, each with a set price, so every quote starts from the same numbers instead of a fresh guess.
Example
Say a plumbing company lists "Water heater install, 40 gallon" at $1,754 and "Drain clearing" at $185. Whoever builds the quote picks the item, and the price comes with it. When a supplier's costs change, the company changes the price once, and the next quote uses it.
A price book can also hold each item's cost, so a quote shows its margin. See how one looks for a trade on the plumbing page, or open the sample quote to see what the customer gets.
